Academics

At Bethel Christian Academy, everything we do is built on the truth that "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge" (Proverbs 1:7). Our goal is to help students see God's hand in every subject while teaching from a biblical worldview grounded in His Word. Our teachers and staff are committed Christians who are passionate about serving both God and the students entrusted to their care.

We believe every child has unique gifts and the ability to succeed. That's why BCA challenges each student to reach their God-given potential. By using a variety of curricula, we're able to create a personalized learning approach that fits each student's individual needs, abilities, and interests. Along the way, students learn to set meaningful academic goals, work diligently to achieve them, and develop the habits and character that prepare them for success in school and in life.

Small Class Size

There is no getting lost in the crowd at BCA. Our commitment to small class sizes keeps us in tune with each individual student’s needs and progress.

Standardized Testing

Along with regular quizzes and testing, our students take the Iowa Stanford Test, a national standardized test, that allows us to gauge the progress of each student on a larger scale.

Daily Bible Instruction

Through Bible classes, scripture memorization and weekly chapel services, our focus is firmly set on Christ and His love for each student and adult.

4-Day School Week

Every weekend is a 3-day weekend at BCA! Our school week runs Tuesday through Friday, allowing for more family time and longer weekends for growing kids to rest.

Dual Credit

High School students have the opportunity to earn dual credit (high school and college at the same time!) through Elizabethtown Community and Technical College.

Learning Centers

Our Classroom Setup

Our classrooms are set up as “Learning Centers” - divided into 1st-7th and 8th-12th grades. Each Learning Center acts as a homeroom where students are seated by grade level and have their own permanent desk space to decorate. While students move to separate classrooms for specific classes, the majority of their work is done at their desk space.

The Learning Center model has been used for decades in education and allows for comradery among grades as well as flexibility in subject-specific grade placement.

Preschool and Kindergarten have their own classroom spaces.

Breaks, Breaks and More Breaks!

Does your child have the wiggles? Hate to stay in the classroom all day? We can help! At BCA, our students get a break in the gym between every class period. That’s 10 minutes of basketball, running around, playing with friends or just hanging out. We often spend a break after lunch at the outdoor play area (weather and season permitting).
